GTR nearly went in the 10s stock in 1200 DA.
I think the Mercs trap was quite weak. Merc surely coul do better

The timeslip shows that the GTR is clearly the faster car stock for stock.

They shouldnt make these “low boost” E63´s. I dont get the point of making a slow AMG Mercs.
VBox had the trap speed at 117-118; however, E63 in video is a non Performance Package (PP) car. A non PP car has only 14.5 PSI of boost vs 18.8 PSI for an E63 with the PP. When stock, a non PP has appx 40 hp less than a PP car. This advantage is eliminated when tuned as both non PP and PP cars end up with same horsepower when tuned.
Considering the DA of +1200, a 12.08 at over 116 is respectable for a non PP car. If had the extra boost of a PP car, would have run 11.7 ish @ 120 ish mph.

With a tune e63 would beat the gtr is a 1/4, a sedan with RWD vs an AWD car that’s lighter…impressive to say the very least
i dont think so..,the 2013 GTR (0-60 2.7) with LC and 1/4=10.8-11.0..depends on the driver. Now lets tune (ecu, injectors, exhaust and remapp boost)? forget about it..

Ok you candi the same modifications to an e63 that’s u can a gtr. Remember the e63 has twin turbos too and at 5.5 liters I believe a better platform for modifying. There are renntech cls63 and e63′s just with a tune one street tires running high 10′s to low 11′s. now imagine slicks, race gas, full exhaust and meth. 9 second car easy…. As fast as the fastest Gtr’s so suck on that will ya.

Are you sure that’s a 2013 GTR? I don’t see the day time running light.
GTR driver has horrible reaction time and shouldn’t be drag racing. The GTR should of destroyed the AMG of the line.

Alway get staged first with the GTR. When the other guys second set of yellows comes on hit your gas. Then when the second big yellow light goes off let out the brake. Also don’t hold the brake down to hard. 20% is perfect, and it will still do its thing.
Do this stuff and you will run a 1.65 or a 1.64 60ft, probably 124-125 mph @11.0s or maybe even a 10.99. I was running 11.1s with 1.65 60ft at 123mph with a 2012. Car really wakes up after first oil change too.

If you do all the things I stated in my last post, you will never see another car ahead of you through 60ft. EVER!
Remember if you hold the car spooled to long it won’t do it’s lauch. And if you don’t give yourself enough time to spool it you will still be sitting there waiting for the revs to get up and the other guy will smoke you out of the hole. I think this is what happen to you. Or you were just late on the light.

all tests i saw where with track tires on the Z06. Okay its stock but not really comparable.
Why isnt it? The GTR has 550hp vs the Z06s 505hp. The GTR has the most advanced AWD system vs a RWD. The GTR has a DCT tranny vs a standard 6 speed. So really nothing is comparable if we start nit picking. The Vette sport Cups are also runflats that are 100% a street tire also as well as a track day tire.
you cannot change the awd or rwd and the dct tranny or standard 6 speed gearbox. But u can change the tires with no problem.

There’s no nit picking and we both know, in this class the tires are incredible important. The Corvette is out of the box extremely fast but after 3000 miles the tires are gone. The Nissan’s tires are able to do 10000 miles but not with the same grip.
But in the end, it doesn’t really matter at all. Both cars are great.
The Z06 didnt have the grip it needed before with the PS2s that are now a 10 year old tire design, Hence the new Super Sports that now are fazing out the PS2s. The GTR with its amazing AWD has incredible bite out of the corners, and the Dunlops are the best tire for a GTR. The Sport Cups cause a nervous GTR as owners have said on the forums.
The GTR has a alot the Z06 doesnt, and the Z06 has stickier tires and its lighter. So both have strong points. But both are so different!
imo the GTR would drive faster with Sport Cups. Nervous ok, but a Race Driver who was able to control the Corvette will be able to control the “nervous” GTR too
The GTR was tested by German GTR owners that run the Nurburgring and didnt like the Sport Cups and were faster than with the Dunlops 600s. Not only that , but the GTR already had Semislick compound bridgestones with a 140 aa rating that the Spec V used also, and NIssan went back to the dunlops.
Nissan again have made a new tire for the 2013 GTR thats specific to the GTR as always! Just because Sport cups work on a Vette doesnt mean they will on a GTR.
Okay i understand but one last question. Is it possible to drive stable lap times with both cars? One extreme fast lap means nothing if u can’t repeat it.
The combo of PTM thats GMs version of the E diff of a 458 keeps the car planted in control and consistant. With the retuned suspension- lighter rims and sticky Sport cups the 2012 Z06 is very well behaved for any driver.

I remember I was with my mom and Dad a few months back at a Nissan dealership (my Mom had to get a new car). And then I saw it, a brand new 2012 Nissan GTR sitting there for sale, my head nearly exploded. I took TONS of pictures of it and even sat in it! that was the best Saturday ever.
